Brubaker Arms offers traditional, hand-cut checkering.
From client-provided patterns to individually designed wrap-arounds with fluers and ribbons, checkering by Brubaker Arms adds additional elements of elegance and class as well as functionality.
Checkering originated as a way to provide extra grip, and allowed stockmakers the opportunity to get creative.
New Hand-cut panels start at $120 a piece. Contact us to discuss custom patterns.

We also recut worn checkering, if your favorite gun is getting worn out, or you just want the beauty brought back.
Recut panels start at $85 a piece.

Recut Worn Checkering
This job was especially challenging; old lines were visible - most places - but several spots had to be carried through, picking up lines where you could. Stock was not refinished, the character kept in tact, just with new checkering to make the shooting better - and to give her an extra dose of class. Prices for this project were $150 per panel.
